Southwest Foundations, Inc. was founded in 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada by R. Laird Whipple. Laird Whipple Concrete, as the company was first known, placed and finished concrete in the residential market. Laird and his wife, DeeAnn, built a reputation for hard work and customer service. R. Laird Jr. and Cortney joined their parents in laying foundations for homes in southern Nevada.

The company was the first concrete subcontractor to use post tension cables in production home slabs. It was also the first to place basements in production homes. As the operation grew, so did the scope and size of projects. The company expanded operations to include light commercial, light industrial, site concrete, and decorative concrete. Today, Southwest Foundations is proud to provide an array of concrete solutions to southern Nevada.
